Friday, February 26th Little York Fire Department was lucky enough to have been invited to join Heritage Elementary School for thier annual Career Day. By the lead of FF J.Spitzenberger, Little York FD shared the several stories with kids ranging from Kindergarten to 5th Grade about what a Career in the fire service is all about. Everything from high level fire training to how important it is to develope good habits early in elementary school to be successful in the fire service. Crews shared what a typical day at the fire station is like  and how continual schooling and education is essential to become a firefighter. Engine 88 was brought to the school to show kids first hand the equipment firefighters use everyday on the job. Approximately 580 students were in attendance throughout the day.

If you are interested in having the fire truck come to your school and speak about firefighting please fill out the PR Request Form found on the Home Page of the website.  Fire Truck visits should be requested well in advance and preferrably kept less than 3 hours. Little York fire trucks remain in service while on PR events to ensure adequte protection to our service area. If the fire truck shall leave for an emergency response while at the event a visit can always be rescheduled.
