Smoke Detectors in Every Home
Working smoke detectors in the home saves lives. In an effort to make sure that every home is equipped with a working smoke detector, the Little York Fire Department will provide free smoke detectors to the residents of Harris County ESD 17 (LYFD Response Area). Smoke detectors are provided and installed at no charge to the resident. Once you have completed the request form and liability waiver, send it in and we will contact you to schedule the installation.

Smoke detector batteries should be changed twice a year. A good rule of thumb in regards to when the batteries should be changed is to change your batteries when the time changes. So when it is time to "Spring Forward" or "Fall back" remember to change those batteries.
